Pitt Race Report:

Phoenix Performance and friends traveled to Pitt International Race way in the western part of Pa for the 71st Annual Cumberland Valley Majors race.

The trip across Pa this time of year is always a beautiful journey on the Pa Turnpike and this one was gorgeous.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to rain for Friday Saturday and Sunday, so it was a race fit for Rainmeisters!!! The Saturday race somehow ended up dry, but Sunday and all of the qualifying sessions ended up from "Monsoon" or just plain wet. Oh, how it rained on the Sunday morning race!

Andrew, Kurt and Marshall all love the rain and they had little difficulty doing it in T-1, T-2 and T-3 respectively. It almost seemed as if there was no rain as each won both races in their respective classes.

Amy Aquilante likewise won both races in American Sedan and sister Beth finished 2nd both days. Obviously, the rain was no problem for them either!!!

Preston Calvert and Orie Voightman both joined us for the fun and festivities in T-2 and finished 2nd and 3rd on Saturday in T-2. Preston sat out the Sunday race as did I in T-1.

All in all, it was a fun, wet, cold event and the Phoenix cars ran well and drivers all did well in the wet.

Next race is Pocono on May 20 and 21. Hope to see everyone there.

Pocono Race Report:

The Phoenix performance team went back to action on May 20 and 21 at Pocono, with some good results..

After a typical Foggy drizzly Pocono spring morning, the track dried out in the afternoon and the races were on.

Andrew Aquilante led all 14 laps in the Big Bore race and led from flag to flag in his Ford Boss 302 Mustang. He was followed to the checker by Tim Rubright in 2nd and Joe Aquilante in 3rd making for a All Phoenix-built Podium.

In Touring 2, Kurt Rezzetanno led the way closely tailed by Dave Sanders in his Phoenix C5 Z06 Corvette. Third on the podium was Al Nocerine in his Phoenix-built Mustang, making for another all Phoenix Podium.

On Sunday, the sky cleared and it was a beautiful day for the Big Bore race.

Andrew Aquilante again led the way while Tim and Joe decided to make a battle of it for 2nd place in T1. Eventually, Joe managed to get ahead of Tim and hang on for 2nd place, making for another all Phoenix podium.

In T2, Kurt again led the way with Dave Sanders and Al Nocerine following.

Also of note was Felix Borodaty who let the way in T4 coming home with wins in both days in his Phoenix-built Toyota 86.

All in all it turned out to be a good weekend the the Phoenix team.

Next up is Watkins Glen on June 3rd and 4th at The SCCA Majors Super Tour event, with the promise of good weather!! Hope to see everyone there! Phoenix will be there with cars in T1, T2 and T3.
